Church Langley, Hertfordshire.

Contemporary Rear Extension.
An extension to satisfy every need.

This project is located in within the modern suburb of Church Langley. The house is not more than 15 years old and was built as part of a larger residential development.

The clients approached JW Bespoke with a list of requirements that were all to be achieved on a relatively modest budget. The house has a large conservatory placed directly in the middle of the rear elevation, slicing the 13m deep rear garden in two.

The proposed design places a 3m deep extension to the left side of the rear elevation, a pitched roof is added to align with the existing garage roof whilst internally creating a dramatic 3.5m vaulted ceiling height, a welcomed addition when pictured next to the current 2.3m ceiling height. Large sliding doors allow the extension to connect with the garden, whilst three sky lights bring natural top-light in all day round.

The existing dining room is retained along the rear elevation but the shallow window is replaced for a set of full height french doors to provide direct access out on to the decked area.

This project has just completed - May 2017.
