JW Bespoke were appointed on this project and asked to maximise the space available within the house, rationalising the layouts and improving the flow through both the ground and first floor. Further to that, the client asked for the extension to be striking and contemporary in its design whilst also respecting is neighbours and their values.

The property is located in Weston Turville, Aylesbury and is large, red brick built family home that has undergone a number of extensions over the years resulting in a convoluted layout at both levels and an incoherent external façade.

The final design splits the applied aesthetic across the levels using a more contemporary approach to the ground floor with a traditional vertical tile hanging to the first floor.

Internally aa open double height entrance hall has been created with gallery landing above, the ground floor has been opened up to improve the flow through the house, linking all of the space via the one large entrance hall. Upstairs we have created a fantastic master suite with en-suite and dressing area whilst also maintaining the old master bedroom to create a house with four bedrooms and three bathrooms.

The project is currently out for tender and is likely to start on site spring / summer 2018.
