One of my most exciting projects to date!

The site and existing property had bundles of potential and, geographically, sits just a stones throw from the famous AHM House by Jorn Utzon and the

Ferrum House by Jack Bonnington. These both provided a heavy influence in preparing designs for the new clients new home. 

​

The final design, which achieved planning approval in February 2022, comprises a single level home with predominantly two external materials; a red antique brick and a contrasting charred accoya timber cladding.

​

The site came with its challenges, being wide and open to the front but narrower and very private to the rear. The garden is north facing and so whilst we perhaps could have extended upwards, the conscious decision was made not to, so as to prevent any overshadowing of the garden.

​

Internally the spaces are beautifully linked via a central spine dividing the house into a social 'public' side and a more 'private' bedroom wing. 

​

A main contractor was appointed in September 2022 and works will commence on site from November 2022. Very excited to see this brought to life...
