JW Bespoke were appointed to carry out a full overhaul of the existing Victorian, end of terrace property in Leytonstone.
The house is large but laid out in such a way that makes the spaces difficult to use effectively. The extending of the house did not have to be vast but simple and effective in its use of space and natural light.
The resulting design which achieved planning permission in June 2018 is a side return extension in a buff coloured London Stock brick to match the existing house with red brick detailing and Crittall-style windows.
An additional storey has been created by adding a master suite in the loft space. An L-shaped dormer window extrudes from the existing roof line to increase headheight and the usability of the space, whilst a Juliette balcony and carefully positioned rooflights allow natural light to fill the entire room.
This project will be starting on site in Spring of 2019.
