Creating practical space for a young family.
The clients for this project approached JW Bespoke seeking much needed practical space. The brief was to create a downstairs WC, additional storage and utility room as well as an office and master suite upstairs.
The house is located on the end of a terrace with garden to the front, side and rear but is enclosed by a tall, 2.5m high, brick boundary wall. Designs aimed to maximise the space around the house but were mindful that the foundations to the boundary wall must not be disturbed - to avoid costly underpinning works.
The final design maximises natural light, usable space and features vaulted ceilings. It combines a mix of traditional styling with contemporary building methods to create a warm, comfortable home.
The project was developed closely with the clients and achieved planning approval in December 2016. A contractor has just been appointed on the job and works will commence at the beginning of April 2017.
