Redevelopment of a classic 'Welwyn Garden City' period home
Welwyn Garden City was developed in the early-mid 1900s and was a forward-thinking, revolutionary masterplan designed to combine benefits from living in both the city and the countryside, ultimately to enhance peoples well-being and lifestyle.
Many areas of the town are now very well protected and development within the 'Estate Management' areas is controlled with strict rules and design guidance.
The plans for this project have been developed over a couple of years. The planning process was pushed to its limits and eventually we emerged with a design that all parties were happy with.
The current home is small and in no way fit for modern family life. The proposed design changes this and sympathetically extends to the side and rear in order to create a new impressive split-level kitchen, dining and living space. A generous master suite and fourth bedroom have also been created at first floor.
Planning was gained in March 2021 and works are due to commence towards the end of the year.
